ARCHITECTURE
AND DESIGN
THIS MUSEUM STUDY FOCUSED ON THE USE OF CIRCLES AND RAMPS. THE CIRCLES WERE USED PROGRAMMATICALLY AND TO INFORM CIRCULATION BY ALLOWING THE USER TO MOVE AROUND AND THROUGH WITH THE USE OF MOSTLY RAMPS. THIS ALLOWS FOR A SMOOTH CONTINOUS CIRCULATION THROUGHOUT THE PROJECT. LIKE A STREAM MOVEMENT ONE WOULD WIND THROUGH AND AROUND PROGRAMS SMOOTHLY. THE EXCEPTION TO THIS MOVEMENT IS WHEN ONE STEPS DOWN INTO A GALLERY SPACE FOR A MOMENT OF REST AND REFLECTION OF THE ARTWORK AS A SYMBALENCE OF ENERTERING A NEW CALM SPACE AWAY FROM THE CONSTANT STREAM OF MOVEMENT. THE OTHER EXCEPTION TO THE CONSTANT MOVEMENT IS WHEN ASCENDING OR DESCENDING FROM FLOORS WITH THE USE OF STAIRS AS A WAY OF TRASITION AND REFLECTION. WHILE YOU CIRCULATE THROUGH THE PROJECT YOU GET DIFFERENT VIEWPOINTS AND LIGHTING EXPERIENCES ESPECIALLY WHEN AT THE TOP FLOOR OR WHEN CIRCULATING DOWN FROM THE TOP FLOOR OF WHICH YOU CAN LOOK INTO DIFFERENT GALLERY SPACES AS WELL AS THROUGH PROGRAM ELEMENTS.
